STUDENT AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT
Student Ambassadors Launch Project Bula to help the schoolchildren of Fiji.

In the summer of 2004, a People to People delegation from the Chicago area traveled to Fiji, an island nation in the South Pacific. After their return to the United States, several of these Student Ambassadors banded together to form Project Bula(R). The goal of the project is to improve the conditions of the Nadroga Navona Provincial High School in Fiji by helping the school raise funds for much needed supplies.

The Nadroga Navosa students live and study in very difficult conditions. The school is a cabin-like structure in the middle of a tropical forest and has no clean water source. The students have a scarce supply of books and school supplies, with no access to computers, projectors, or any other advanced learning aids.

The Student Ambassadors who have formed Project Bula are donating their time, talent and energy to help their fellow Fijian students get the school supplies they so desperately need. By doing so, these Ambassadors are upholding the People to People ideals first established by President Eisenhower and promoting world peace through mutual assistance and understanding.
