From Delegate to Leader

Kym Cuffman's experiences with People to People have come full-circle. "I have been a delegate, a parent of a delegate, an aunt of a delegate, a sister of a delegate and now I'm a delegation leader," explained Cuffman.

Cuffman, a teacher at Woodland School in Oak Ridge, Tenn., was introduced to People to People in the summer of '73 when she traveled as a delegate.

"Twenty-five years ago, the world was very large and people were more isolated from what was happening," Cuffman said. "Now the world is much more open and so much smaller that it's important we take these opportunities to be People to People, one-on-one, and to have an open mind as to what others are doing."

"People to People gives young people a chance to see other places, other people and other ways of living," Cuffman said. "It's very refreshing to see the quality of students that we have in this program."
