the amazing diversity of rainforest ecology. Enjoy Australian folk songs and learn to bush dance. Cruise to the magnificent Great Barrier Reef. You can snorkel or take a semi-submersible boat ride and view the thousands of varieties of colorful fish and coral without getting wet. Ayers Rock Days 7-8
Board your flight for Ayers Rock, also know by its Aboriginal name, Uluru. In the heart of the Red Center region, Ayers Rock is considered a natural wonder of the world. You’ll learn about Uluru’s sacred meaning to the local Aboriginal tribes. Begin the next day with sunrise at Uluru and take a walk around its perimeter. With respect for the wishes of the local Anangu people, who consider Uluru a sacred site, Student Ambassadors will not climb it. Instead, hike around its magnificent circumference, and as you explore, take note of the decorations and paintings. Enjoy an Aussie barbecue amid the spectacular scenery of the rugged Outback.
King’s Canyon Day 9
Explore the Lost City and the Garden of Eden at King’s Canyon as you walk around the rim of the ancient sedimentary canyon.
Ooraminna Bush Camp Day 10
Journey across the vast expanse of central Australia to your Outback bush camp. Along the way, listen to the stories of explorers and early settlers who lived in this amazing region. Spend the afternoon cracking whips and going on a guided bush walk. Tonight you will revel in your million-star accommodations as you snuggle into your swag (a unique canvas cover and sleeping bag rolled into one neat bundle) for a good night’s sleep.
Alice Springs Day 11
This morning, come face-to-face with some of Australia’s resident reptiles before visiting the Royal Flying Doctor Service. This valuable service is the link between life and death for many Outback residents who may live hundreds of miles from their nearest neighbor, and thousands of miles from the nearest hospital. After lunch, climb onto a camel and enjoy great views of the magnificent surrounding landscape. Later, you will have the chance to learn about the School of the Air. Because many students live in rural locations, they receive their daily educational instruction by listening to the radio!
Sydney Day 12 Through challenging workshops, you’ll learn leadership skills, set personal goals and step outside your comfort zone. Fly across a valley on a zip line or tackle an outdoor adventure course.
Sydney Days 13-14
Visit Sydney Tower for a breathtaking 360-degree view of the city skyline. Take “Skytour,” an amazing simulated exploration of Australia’s natural wonders. Experience a guided orientation of the majestic Sydney Opera House complex. Lunch at the famous Hard Rock Café with a fascinating collection of music memorabilia. Walk around Farm Cove and have a group photo at Mrs. Macquarie's Chair. Bring your camera, because you’ll see fabulous views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Finally, we’ll board our personal sailing vessel and enjoy a dinner cruise on spectacular Sydney Harbour.
